Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American Sportcaster. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She started working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins speaks two languages and has been bilingual since when she was nine years old. The ability to speak two languages allowed her to land her first job at Univision, Miami. She could work alongside national producers on shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. It was the CBS station of St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as reporters for sports. She moved in 2009 from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as journalist for The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about immigration and drug trafficking throughout Texas and Mexico. The duties of anchoring for weather, sports or other events were often requested. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. She was also given more responsibility. She did pieces on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of the Univision 23 local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she was anchor. She was promoted as anchor of sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also served as an anchor on sports for Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. She was born on 22nd November 1984 in Mexico City. She's younger than her sister. In 1992, the family moved out of Mexico and moved to Miami. The couple divorced shortly following and in the year 1995, she was married to a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. In the summer of 2006, she had the week she spent with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta who was in high school who had a vision of how she wanted her career to be like, travelled to Mount Union University in order to find out whether the university was suitable for her. In the end, she was a fan of the university and they had the program she wanted. She finished her education and was accepted to the University for a master's degree in media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor at WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a part. His passion for journalism and her self-confidence prompted her. She in turn attempted to live up to his standards and not fall short of his expectations.
